Gaming

Post by ShinRyusei »

Because we totally had to have a thread on this, 'cause forums rock like that. What consoles do people have here? PCs? Handhelds? Other random junk? I just wanna start a conversation. Gaming has been pretty hard due to my situation, but I've mainly been playing Super Robot Wars Original Generations. It's a hot-blooded Tactics game with over the top attack animations that look like an anime battle.

I don't think it'd be up the alley of most in the community, but I think anyone could appreciate the pure passion put into the animations, as well as the phenomenal soundtrack.

A blob in space who's interested in the indie web, and intentional use of technology. Soon-to-be owner of the Light Phone 3. I hope we can have a good time! :D

I mainly play games on my PC, but I also have: a Nintendo Switch (excited for Switch 2 so that I can play it for a few months and then have it sit to collect dust :D), a Nintendo Wii, an R36S, a (hacked) New Nintendo 3DS (which I had got scammed twice before finding and purchasing), my original launch Nintendo 3DS (total ripoff btw... thanks Nintendo...), and an Xbox One that is just relegated to my living room as my stream box mostly lol.

Haven't been able to really play anything huge lately due to finishing up my last semester of undergrad and working an unpaid internship part-time on top of that. I can't wait to graduate and go back to playing games more haha. Recently played through SOMA, now in the middle of Everhood 2. Playing Star of Providence or Minecraft in my spare time mostly since they are both easily picked up/put down. Usually prefer longer, story-focused games, though.

Do you have a PS2? Other consoles?

I used to own a Steam Deck - great and powerful device, but I wasn't finding enough time to play, so I ended up selling it.

Now I'm using my old Nintendo DS as my handheld gaming system, and I absolutely love it: no firmware updates, no complicated menus to navigate, just simplicity with tons of great games! The battery life is incredibly long too, which is another major plus. It's also super compact and easy to carry around, and I love how the clamshell design naturally protects both screens when closed. Currently replaying Chinatown Wars and Pokémon Black 2.

I also have a small CRT TV with NES and SNES consoles. My girlfriend and I play them occasionally.

These days I'm introducing my girlfriend to classic games since she wasn't really into gaming before. We're currently playing Minecraft together as she's never experienced it before. It's been really fun!
iPhone SE 2022 -> LP3 soon :D
