Introducing Myself

Well hi everyone! And by everyone, I guess this population is kind of small--though I hope it grows bigger (woah, not THAT bigger). Kidding. I'm timothyjmiller1 and have been using my Light Phone II since September 19th, 2022. Apart from those couple of days and times when I tried out other dumbphones, I've consistently been using it as my primary phone. And since roughly October 2024 (tho time before that too) I've been essentially not using my smartphone at all, because I carry around a digital camera in my pocket. It's a great camera and my friends absolutely adore it! But I am ready to have camera function back on my phone. Speaking of which, I am in the first batch for the LPIII pre-order and hope to be receiving my shipping # very soon!! So that'll be kinda exciting. Anyways, I'm happy that there is a forum here now, it feels better than the discord. You've probably seen me active on the Light Phone discord; I am in fact there sometimes. Well that's about enough, so I'll wrap up with this: I'm a proud digital mindfulness advocate (better than digital minimalism imo) and am constantly trying to find ways to limit my screen time and be immersed more in the real world. Frankly I am happier without my technology, and my mood feels better. Though I still feel the constant draw to it and "need" to check things (even if I know that there is nothing there to check). What I am describing is a lot like the Christian life, lol (i'm taming my theology nerd self to stop at that). But yeah, I wholeheartedly believe what the Light company is doing and am behind it. The phone/philosophy/ethos has changed my life for the better, and am stoked to be more and more apart of the online community. -TJM

Welcome Timothy (do you prefer Tim?)! The camera is also something I'm really looking forward to having again, it'll be nice to not have to carry around an additional, large piece of tech to take pictures. Nice that you got in the first batch of shipments, hope you get yours ASAP! Feel the same about digital mindfulness and have also been feeling happier since starting my journey into it.

I have a Canon Powershot SD950 IS. Goated camera! The photo's on it are so incredibly good. On the discord photography channel I've posted a lot of my photos too (same username handle).
